What is TEF?
TEF stands for test d’Evaluation de français. It is a standardised test that is conducted to check your French fluency. It was created by CCI Paris Ile-de-France, i.e., the Chamber of commerce and industry of Paris.

Structure of the TEF exam

The test comprises four modules, i.e., listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
- Listening-
Duration of 40 minutes
Format- 60 questions consisting of Audio clips and MCQs
- Speaking-
Duration of 15 minutes
Format- 2 live oral interactive tasks
- Reading-
Duration of 60 minutes
Format- 50 questions of MCQs
- Writing-
Duration of 60 minutes
Format- 2 topics given to write
Scores are given to each section separately, and the results are expressed in CEFR levels.
A few tips for TEF aspirants
Students must prepare for each module separately and must focus on the vocabulary and grammar to make the foundation strong. Students are advised to solve TEF practice tests under real-time constraints. This will help them to understand the pattern and prepare them to manage time.
